Another side of nursing

Sunday, May 6, 2018

In case you haven’t heard, Nurses Week is upon us! They really do deserve a WEEK of celebration. Nurses Week is typically celebrated on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. I have a hard time putting into words how much our nurses mean to us. Many of them work in a clinical setting AND are continuing their education, picking up extra hours elsewhere, or working to advance their careers, while maintaining their family life. The nursing staff that I work with on a regular basis, are truly my second family members. They bring me up when…

The desert calls

Thursday, May 3, 2018

Chris and I like to getaway as often as we can. Sometimes that means short trips within the Southern California area, but I’ll take it. I still feel like I’m curbing my travel craving. Due to our insane schedules and levels of stress, we try to aim for MAX relaxation. That’s because I try not to dwell in the negatives. If I did, it would really bring me down. Every job comes with positives and negatives, but medicine in particular, has it’s fair share of negatives. The long days, high level of stress, difficult…

What everybody ought to know about my fitness routine

Sunday, February 25, 2018

A day in the life of Dr. Majestic, doesn’t always include a traditional workout. Being an Emergency Medicine physician comes with frequent schedule changes and trouble sleeping, much of the time. I have learned to be creative, when it comes to my workouts. In residency, I avoided working out completely, because I was so tired. Much of my calorie burning came from running around the hospital. I would try my best to get to the gym on my days off, but they were few and far between. Plus, I preferred to spend my days off sleeping, or doing something social!…
