Shoe game strong

Saturday, August 25, 2018

Who doesn’t want comfortable shoes for work, that also look rad? The answer is NO ONE, my friends. I have to say though, in medicine, the cool factor becomes much less of a priority. Most of the time, I’m just so tired and focused on my work that what my shoes look like, doesn’t matter a bit. There came a point however, when I realized even though I wear scrubs to work, my appearance still matters a lot. Just like any other line of work, people want to see their doctor or nurse look presentable. That includes having shoes that…

Life with a Frenchie

Monday, July 9, 2018

It’s no surprise to any of you that owning a dog is work! Especially when you have a busy work schedule. Many of you ask questions about how we found and manage our little french bulldog, so I’m finally writing this blog post! And yes… her name is Ems (m’s) but short for EMS (Emergency Medical Services), we HAD to find a way to be creative! Chris and I had been talking about getting a french bulldog for a while, before we took the plunge. We were lucky, and found a breeder that we were happy with, pretty quickly. One…

Sunday, May 6, 2018

In case you haven’t heard, Nurses Week is upon us! They really do deserve a WEEK of celebration. Nurses Week is typically celebrated on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. I have a hard time putting into words how much our nurses mean to us. Many of them work in a clinical setting AND are continuing their education, picking up extra hours elsewhere, or working to advance their careers, while maintaining their family life. The nursing staff that I work with on a regular basis, are truly my second family members. They bring me up when…

The desert calls

Thursday, May 3, 2018

Chris and I like to getaway as often as we can. Sometimes that means short trips within the Southern California area, but I’ll take it. I still feel like I’m curbing my travel craving. Due to our insane schedules and levels of stress, we try to aim for MAX relaxation. We had a Boston trip planned for a while, but when we realized that we had a few extra days off together, we decided to book it to the desert for some hot sun and pool time, before braving the Boston cold. We have both been to Palm Springs…
