True love comes quietly without banners or flashing lights... unless your guy is a firefighter and you met him on the job 😂👨🏼🚒
On my last day of residency, fate brought Chris and I together.
It was early and I was the senior resident in the department that day. One of the nurses asked me to evaluate a firefighter with a needle stick.
Said firefighter was not Chris, but there he was, as part of the crew, leaning all casually in the hallway with his turn outs and hat on.
Chatty he was. Very very chatty. I may or may not have been grateful that I did my hair that morning for my last day 😍
Well...after I cured the needle stick and sent them on their way I received a prompt Facebook friend request and message from C. I remember thinking to myself “oh it’s that cute firefighter, ok!”.
Our relationship wasn’t the shiny and bright path that you’re imagining, or that you see today.
When I met Chris I was NOT expecting to embark on a new relationship journey. In fact, I was still in a very complicated situation with my former significant other.
But with Chris I KNEW as soon as I got to know him, that I was in the right place, and I needed to take a chance.
For the first time in a very long time, I decided to listen to my gut and throw out social norms and what other people might think. I opened up to the idea of getting to know Chris, even with my sticky past that I was still cleaning up... and I was hooked immediately. In fact, I knew we were destined to be together pretty early on. I remember exactly where I was sitting in my former home when I told my mom, “I think this is the one”.
So let this be a lesson my friends. Don’t ignore your gut. Even if it scares you, even if you’re doing something unconventional, even if people are doubting you and thinking “my goodness she may actually be crazy”, follow your heart 💓
Happy Valentines Day!
From me to you❤️
I love you all for being such a blessing in our lives and even if you’re single today, show yourself some extra love would ya? 😘 ...
